A 1500 sq ft blank canvas of unfinished space. This basement spans the entire floor plan of this Aurora home, so by finishing it, we’re effectively doubling the living square footage of the home.

The challenge about finishing a basement like this is dealing with the multiple exposed pipes and wiring. To overcome this, some of the plumbing and wiring had to be relocated, and soffits had to be framed in places where installations must exist.

The new space accommodates two bedrooms, each with its oversized closet, a bathroom with a beautiful tiled shower, a large family room, and a functional laundry room.

For comfort and a cozy feel, most of the spaces are carpeted except the bathroom and laundry where we used water-resistant flooring in a cool pattern.

In the bathroom, we installed a full size shower with beautiful tile walls, and a built in vanity cabinet with quartz countertop and a tasteful backsplash matching the shower tile.

The laundry area, features a space for stackable washer and dryer and base cabinets with a quartz countertop for folding laundry.

To make the basement bright, plenty of lighting was installed throughout. And finally, a cool pallet of colors was selected for a sophisticated and elegant look.
