Before
Originally built in the 1960s, this room included a small kitchen with a washer and dryer area while the rest of the space was the dining room. A set of french doors connected the space to the living room.

Renovation
The entire old kitchen was scrapped by removing the existing cabinets, appliances, washer and dryer enclosure, and even the low soffits and the rest of the ceiling. We also eliminated the french doors to accommodate cabinetry and expand the kitchen. We framed the large structure for the new island and replaced the floor. Additionally, venting and electrical systems were updated.

After
The completely renovated space is a multi-use room with all the functionality of a modern kitchen and efficient use of space for dining, entertaining, working from home, and even doing laundry!
The centerpiece of the room is an oversized kitchen island that features an induction cooktop and a hood on one end, while the rest of the extensive quartz countertop serves as an elegant dining table large enough for eight seats!
Covering over half of the wall space, bright white cabinets were installed that make for an impressively large kitchen with lots of storage. Butcher block countertops finished in a natural tone were also installed, along with a trendy farmhouse sink and brand new appliances.
To complete the renovation with the most efficient use of space, we built in a custom washer and dryer enclosure with shelves, and a work station with additional storage. And to finish off this modern and stylish space with a little contrast, we installed black matte hardware and light fixtures.
