Before
This basement space in an Aurora home, which was previously only used as a laundry room, was modified to accommodate a modern bathroom along with functional laundry space.
To add the bathroom, we installed new plumbing, framed new walls, and added adequate lighting. We also relocated the washer and dryer hookups and built a platform for the washer and dryer.

After
To make the best use of this small space in a basement with low ceilings, we added an accent wall using the same decorative tile used on the floor, extending from the new laundry area into the bathroom then upward onto the back wall. Then we installed a small floating vanity that is stylish and doesn’t take up too much space.
For the shower, we used a simple white tile floor to ceiling, and a rain shower overhead. Then a beautifully designed frameless glass enclosure was installed. The black hardware and fixtures throughout the space complement the bright, neutral tones of the room.
For the laundry area, we built an elevated platform for the washer and dryer, and framed in the exposed pipes for a clean look. The finished space is a modern bathroom that is as functional as it is stylish!
